Café Australian Labradoodles start out life as chocolate when they are born and fade over one to three years to café. The ‘finished’ coat colour ranges from a milk chocolate to a silver-beige tone. The lightening gene is fairly common and as such, café is actually more common that the true chocolate in the Australian Labradoodle breed. The nose pigmentation is rose. It can be difficult to predict whether or not chocolate puppies will fade to café, but as a rule of thumb the lighter in tone they are when born, the more likely they will fade to café.
We have quite a number of chocolate and café dogs in our breeding programme and as such, we frequently produce miniature and medium café Australian Labradoodle puppies.
